AI News
Midjourney has released several updates today:
The V7 model has been updated, with slight improvements in image quality, prompt accuracy, and body and hand coherency. The update applies to all images created with V7. You can also rerun the old images with the same seeds to improve their consistency.
The aesthetic enhancement may affect approximately 1% of current prompts.
The improved lightbox editor now displays the Vary and Upscale buttons automatically, eliminating the need for users to turn them on manually.
The new --exp parameter serves as an experimental aesthetic enhancer. It can make images more detailed and creative, but at the cost of less prompt adherence. The default value is 0, and it can be increased to 100. It is similar to --stylize but generates more detailed images. (I plan to write an article about this soon, stay tuned!).
The Omni-reference and Fast modes are coming soon. At the moment, some bugs need fixing.
Omni-reference can only accept one image, but it can reference multiple people, objects, and styles. It may even support the weight parameter.
Quality improvement (--q 4) could be scheduled for next week.
The new Super Sref is coming soon, and it will also improve the Moodboards.
The video feature release date is unknown because the developers still have things to consider (retraining on the clean-up dataset, its role in the V8 release, etc.).

Runway has launched its references for consistent characters and locations. Users can use the new features to create consistent characters and different scenes by referring to the uploaded images (up to three different reference images).
How does this work? You can upload and use up to three reference images at once to place the character in a scene, change their details, or add a new character (such as a cat). Rotate the images if there are more than three. Runway will create a grid of four images. You choose the best ones and create the video clips.
You can watch a sample video created by me here:
This feature was initially launched only to users who are participating in Gen:48. By the way, Gen:48 is a two-day short film competition organized by Runway.
Perplexity now offers GPT image generation using the OpenAI model. You can create the image directly from Perplexity. It is suitable for simple images (see below). However, it appears to struggle to create more complex posters with text.
Prompt: Generate an image of a cat
Update from Geeky Curiosity
To keep things brief and more visual, "Midjourney Office Hours" will now be condensed and integrated into the AI news section. It will no longer be written as an individual section.
Midjourney frequently releases new features several hours after Office Hours. I'd also like to combine coverage of new features with key takeaways from Office Hours.
It is also to avoid confusion because the feature names and terminology used during the Office Hours may differ from the actual release.

The "Midjourney Style Resources #1: Iridescent, Photography" article has been updated to Midjourney V7 Alpha. This resource now also includes one new Sref code.
Prompt Play
ChatGPT-4o has virtually limitless practical applications in image generation. But is it the best tool for creating mockup websites? So, I put it to the test in comparison to Midjourney and Ideogram.
I'd like to create two websites:
1. Website for KittyKoi, a cat plus toy (fish) brand.
2. Website for Pawsicle, a dog ice cream brand.
Prompt to create a mockup for the KittyKoi website:
A cozy, whimsical website for “KittyKoi,” a cat fish plush toy brand. Homepage showcases adorable cats cuddling with colorful, fish-shaped plushies on soft pastel backgrounds (mint green, lavender, peach). Hero banner displays “Bring Home a Fishy Friend!” in playful, rounded font. Navigation bar includes Home, Shop, Reviews, and About. Product grid features plush toys in various sizes and patterns, each with a cute name and price tag. Animated fish and cat paw icons accent the interface. Prominent “Add to Cart” and “Learn More” buttons. Footer includes social media icons and a newsletter signup. Clean, inviting, and cat-friendly design. Aspect ratio 9:16
Prompt to create a mockup for the Pawsicle website:
A playful, modern website for "Pawsicle," a dog ice cream brand. The homepage features happy dogs enjoying colorful ice cream cones, pastel color palette (light blue, pink, cream), and large, rounded buttons. Navigation bar includes Home, Flavors, Find Us, and About. Whimsical paw print accents and cartoon ice cream illustrations throughout. Clean, friendly fonts and a prominent “Shop Now” button. Aspect ratio 9:16
ChatGPT-4o results:
While the KittyKoi website is visually appealing, it appears more like a flyer. A lot of information is missing from the given prompt.
The Pawsicle website looks good, but it contains too little information, and the page is abruptly truncated at the bottom.
Midjourney V7 results:
Then I tried Midjourney. The result looks fine, but the text is terrible. David has stated several times that V7 has not been trained on text (yet). In fact, they remove the text from the Midjourney training materials.
Cat plush toy website:

Dog ice cream website:
A playful, modern website for "Pawsicle," a dog ice cream brand. The homepage features happy dogs enjoying colorful ice cream cones, pastel color palette (light blue, pink, cream), and large, rounded buttons. Navigation bar includes Home, Flavors, Find Us, and About. Whimsical paw print accents and cartoon ice cream illustrations throughout. Ideogram V3 results:
Finally, I tested Ideogram. The result is stunning, with a functional website layout and a more sophisticated font style that complements the toy and ice cream theme.
In conclusion, Ideogram is the clear winner for this type of quick website mockup idea, particularly when it comes to the quality of both graphics and text that accurately depict the product concepts and intended use cases.
Inspiration
The 1971 book "Poissons, Ecrevisses et Crabes" is the earliest known colour publication on fish illustration. I like the colorful drawing of fish in various shapes and sizes. I use one of the illustrations as an image prompt and generate the images below with Midjourney V7.
