Midjourney Office Hours Nov 19th, 2025: Profiles launch and web improvements
Midjourney released user profiles today, and the approach is refreshingly anti-social-media. No follower counts, no like counts. Just creativity-first curation.
Profile features:
Spotlight tab for curated selections
Archive showing all public creations
Stealth images stay private unless manually published
Trash feature (not auto-deleting yet, but will eventually)
Coming soon:
Style Creator drops in a couple days
Curated feeds from followed creators
Web documentation for hidden features
Changelog returning after long absence
The web platform keeps gaining Discord features without the chat chaos. Concurrent prompting across tabs works now. Mobile stability got major fixes this month.
Video updates: Next model includes audio so that mouth movements will sync with the actual sound. The team noted cartoon characters’ mouths moving unintentionally; it’s been logged. The future direction is less Hollywood editing and more real-time world simulation.
What’s being considered:
Advanced search with negative terms
Multi-image Omni Reference support
Better folder tools in the sidebar
Custom parameter pre-sets for web
V8 aims to provide built-in text rendering, eliminating the need for external apps. Text quality is solved at the model level first, and editor features later.
Midjourney launches user profiles with fast hours rewards
Midjourney rolled out user profiles today, giving everyone a customizable space on midjourney.com.
Profile customization includes:
Custom username, profile image, banner
Short bio and social links
Spotlight tab for favorite images
Private following (only you see your followers)
Archive showing all public creations
Incentive for early adopters: Set up your complete profile within 24 hours (username, profile image, banner, and at least eight creations in spotlight) and get five free fast hours. Requires an active subscription.
Feature naming changes:
“Hide” is now “Trash” - trashed images won’t appear in Create, Organize, or your profile Archive. They might still show up on Explore if someone has the job ID.
For Stealth users: “Publish/Unpublish” renamed to “Public/Private”
Mobile improvements:
Redesigned the image tray for image prompts
Fixed parameter view on the create page
Lightbox swipe dismissal
Editor glitch fixed
Scrollable filters on the Organize page
The 5-hour reward is generous for profile setup. Smart move to seed the initial community and get people invested in customization. The Trash vs Stealth distinction matters. Trash isn’t a free privacy feature, just organization.
Google releases Gemini 3
Google dropped Gemini 3 on November 18, and it’s a major upgrade, not just another incremental model update.
The standout feature? Agentic coding that actually works. Gemini 3 tops the WebDev Arena leaderboard with “vibe coding,” where you describe what you want in natural language, and it builds rich, interactive applications with complex visualizations. No templates needed. The new Google Antigravity platform lets it handle entire development workflows autonomously.
Multimodal capabilities are native, not bolted on. It processes text, images, video, audio, and code simultaneously with a one-million-token context window. Scored 81% on MMMU-Pro and 87.6% on Video-MMMU, which puts it ahead of most models struggling with anything beyond text.
The reasoning is PhD-level. Gemini 3 Pro hit 1501 Elo on LMArena and 23.4% on MathArena Apex. Deep Think mode pushes even further for complex problems, though it’s still in testing for Ultra subscribers.
What makes it different? It’s integrated everywhere you already work - Google Search, Gmail, developer tools, and billions of devices. You’re not switching platforms or learning new interfaces.
My take? The agentic coding is impressive. I’m curious how it handles creative prompts compared to ChatGPT’s Canvas or Claude’s artifacts. Ecosystem integration matters more than benchmark scores. Accessibility beats raw performance when you’re actually trying to build something.
Study confirms: Women artists earn significantly less than men
CNN published research showing the art world’s gender pay gap is dramatic and measurable.
It’s shocking to know that when identical AI-generated artworks were shown to gallery-goers, those with male signatures were rated higher.
The numbers are brutal. Highest auction price for a female artist? $44.4 million (Georgia O’Keeffe). For male artists? $450.3 million (Leonardo da Vinci). Living artists show the same pattern: women’s record is $13.6 million versus men’s $91 million. That’s less than 15% of the male record.
The signature effect is wild as art signed by men increases in value compared to an unsigned work. Women’s artwork actually decreases in value when signed. Same piece, different signature, different price.
Motherhood creates another penalty. Dealers report collectors lose trust in female artists after having children, believing they can’t focus on work anymore. Male artists face no equivalent scrutiny.
The institutional problem runs deep. Museums, auction houses, and galleries remain male-dominated, which affects who gets collected and exhibited. This creates a feedback loop where historical underrepresentation justifies continued underrepresentation.
Update from Geeky Curiosity
Midjourney’s Style Explorer has been around for a bit now, and I’ve been playing with the public styles. Some are genuinely beautiful.
If you’re new to style references, this is actually a great way to experiment. Just grab random Sref codes and see what happens. No pressure.
Here are some public codes I’ve been using this week: 3348232451, 396061637, and 200764609 .

Worth checking out if you want even more options.

Japandi blends Japanese minimalism with Scandinavian warmth.
Think clean lines, natural materials (wood, stone, linen), and intentional simplicity. Every element serves a purpose. The aesthetic draws from wabi-sabi that means finding beauty in imperfection and natural wear. Muted tones, open spaces, and organic shapes create calm, uncluttered environments.

Midjourney removing follower counts is a bold move that could genuinely shift how people approach creative platforms. The signature effect research is fascinating and depresing at the same time, proof that bias runs deeper than we'd like to admit. Japandi as a desing philosophy makes so much sense right now when everyone's trying to find balance between aestetic minimalism and actual livable warmth. The Gemini 3 agentic coding sounds promising if it can actually deliver on natural language developement.
