Here is the summary of the latest Midjourney Office Hours:
The upcoming two major releases for V6.1 are multiple personalization profiles and batch 8 grid. They will be available before V7.
The Batch 8 grid will probably not work on Discord due to the UI.
A new style-based "mood board" feature will be available, allowing users to personalize the model by uploading multiple images. For example, one can upload images from a project to restrict the model to that style.
Other upcoming things
A demographic project and storytelling experiment will be released soon.
The two new models, V6 video and V7 image, are currently being trained. The V7 training for low-resolution images is complete. It is unclear whether V7 or V6 videos will be released first.
The video feature works similarly to an image Upscaler. It will be from image-to-video rather than text-to-video. The video should be entertaining and accessible. It is not the goal to create a video similar to those seen in Hollywood.
More secret projects will be revealed over the next six months.
Some projects are very cheap to develop, but others are larger and riskier, requiring due diligence.
New information about V7
V7 is expected to have compatibility issues for improved functionality. However, many things from the past will not be supported, including the Sref codes in V6.1! The Sref in V7 will be different with the new codes.
It will have larger and faster batches, resulting in a less lingual model.
It will work on Discord.
It will be smarter, with a better image, more coherence, faster performance, and a new Upscaler.
It is unclear whether it can render text more accurately or how much information in the prompt it can handle.
Multiple and improved character consistency features are planned for the V7 release.
About Retexture
The developers have a retexture version that works on Discord, but it is unclear whether they will release it.
Retexture is the same as ControlNet.
