Here is the summary of the latest Midjourney Office Hours:
Two upcoming releases are expected this week or early next week:
(1) New Personalization Profile
(2) Mood Board where users can upload images for personalization
The Worldbuilding or Storytelling team will take over next week's Midjourney Office Hours to share the new feature with users. We may be able to test it out. David said that a sudden spike in usage could cause the system to crash. (Hopefully not!)
Two more features may be released this month:
(1) A second, stricter Retexture that will not change much.
2) The Bigger Batch. However, this is less likely as it has become a race with Midjourney V7 release next year.
Midjourney plans to make more frequent releases in 2025.
What we currently know about the Midjourney V7 model
Training goes well. The target release date is January 2025.
The developers are still debating how much text to include in the database to make the text generation look good.
The V7 will have enhanced personalization, multiple Cref that support multiple human characters, more accurate faces, and improved prompt adherence. The developers will also "work on" nonhuman characters.
Other possible releases in January 2025
(1) Style explorer
(2) Fast and affordable Video feature (quality vs price debate) that looks good. It could cost four times more than creating an image. There is no information about the video's length. Users will be invited to rank the videos to help train the model.
Other topics: David is considering creating a model that is slower but better. The aesthetic research is complete, but the blog posts are not yet ready.
