Silent mode Office Hours, Multiple personalization, Batch 8, and Midjourney V7 updates.
Dear readers,
David was unwell today, losing his voice from too many meetings, but he still managed to dial in today. The Office Hours session was held in "silent mode" as David shared the latest updates and answered questions from Midjourney fans.
Upcoming releases
The batch 8 feature will come after the release of multiple personalization. The developers are working on the new personalization features (mood boards, multiple profiles, and demographic profiles).
Updates on Midjourney V7
There is no exact release date yet, but David said they are "pretty close" to the V7 and the video feature. It is unclear if it will be before or after Christmas because the developers do not want to work over the holiday again.
It is not entirely clear yet what V7 is really good at.
V7 will not be worse than V6.
V7 will be multilingual.
One thing for sure is that V7 will have better Cref and multiple-character consistency.
V7 may also have bigger batches.
V7 has not yet been optimized for text writing. There are some data bugs, and the developers are fixing them now.
A new editor will be released after the V7 fine-tuning.
There is some debate about whether the native V7 resolution should be increased or if an Upscaler should be used.
The video feature will be image-to-video. No text-to-video. It is going to be like "upcale to video"
