Midjourney Office Hours (18th Dec 2024)
Create unlimited images with faster /relax mode during Christmas break.
Dear readers,
Here is the summary of the latest Midjourney Office Hours:
During the Christmas break, Midjourney will temporarily enable FAST /relax mode for everyone.
(Updated 19th Dec: You can use the permutation prompts on /relax mode too!)
It will be faster, have a larger queue size, and allow everyone to create as many images as possible.
The reason is that Midjourney currently has some idle servers that it wants to use.
It’s unknown how long the fast /relax mode offer will last. Try it now!
Midjourney will begin nagging users to set up the global profile (baseline model).
Patchwork will remain a research topic for worldbuilding and storytelling in the future. It's a more advanced feature, and not everyone likes it, but the team is pleased with the release.
The video model is still debating. But it could be released next month. It's possible the video feature will make the company lose money in the next few years.
David said that they are looking into ways to explore Sref and Moodboard styles, as well as thinking about the emergence of "aesthetic singularity" to channel the community's energy toward aesthetic exploration.
Even though many features were released in 2024. Many people are only using the basic features. As a result, Midjourney wants to prioritize the fundamentals alongside the new features.
Batch-8 is on its way, but it's unclear whether it'll arrive before V7. Definitely not this year.
Midjourney V7 may be released by the end of January. Or it could be faster.
The V7 first release will not be able to handle very long text.
It'll focus on the character first, as many people requested.
Its resolution and upscale features are unknown.
More versions of V7 will be released, possibly as 7.1 or under different names.
Follow-up for Midjourney V7 can be fast.
2025 will take a different approach to model release, with the goal of having more releases.
In the future, Midjourney will further enhance personalization and aesthetics. They want to make the images more realistic and beautiful.
